Well I had an online chat with sky yesterday to find out what my new sub would be post 1st sep. after I long chat as they typed very slowly I gotta figure which wasn't as bad as I thought. I then cheekily asked if there were any offers on my account to upgrade to sky sports (even though it had only been switched off on 5th may). They came back and said 6mths half price.

So job done. That gets me through this ashes series and the winter one. Then I'll call to remove it again at the 6mtj point and see what they say.

Always worth asking the question as to what they will do for you.

I think you find that the small print will state that it is a minimum of a 12 month contract.

Nope, not at all, I can remove sky sports after 6mths this was explicitly said on the call. They even told me the date that I have to ring to cancel sports if I don't want to incur the full cost.

Most of it is for the Calls - We Pay 3.00 a Month for Line Rental - Any Calls we may we are charged for , doesn't help with you have to ring Insurance,Gas,Elec people on the 0870/0845 Numbers - If you ring them using there SNT 0870 Number they don't answer it - Ring 0840/0870 number they answer it..

Our Current Package is (as Taken From MySky)

      TV
      Extra Subscription 10.25
Entertainment Extra with Sports and Movies HD 64.75 (Top Package? - Multi room Boxes are Both HD)

      Internet

Does anyone know if the offers on the Sky site are available for Existing Customers aswell as new?

You're paying the correct price for your package apart from the line rental cost, if that helps.

Your line rental discount appears to be ending around the 10th August, though.

Just had my letter. a 1.75 increase
      0.75 for EE
      1.00 for sky sports

Was really expecting something on fibre this summer for existing customers, but 20 a month is too much, even if I got 6 months half price.
Will ring them next month and see what they say.
Seems that the bt sport deal is not really seen as a big impact to sky, for them to make many changes.

Different deals have different time limits. Most of Sky's are for a 6 month period but not all.

Sky are targeting those specifically likely to get BT Sports, not everyone all at once.

Obviously not good being advised one thing, then to be told a higher amount later.

Have you been able to break down the reason for the difference? I would be inclined to call Sky to let them know that you are not happy and hopefully get it waived.
