12 Month Half Price TV Offer With New Sky Box

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help.

I was a Sky broadband and TV user till issues with broadband made us jump ship to Virgin Last year. Though we've received a half price tv offer from sky for 12 months and are sorely tempted as it makes it affordable to have in tandem with virgin broadband.

Unfortunately we got rid of our box and viewing card so was wondering if the deal was still valid and would still work with a second hand sky box off ebay, gumtree etc?

Umm does the offer not say "New sky box" which means one is included with the deal.

There you'll get a new box and a new card.

Umm no it doesn't. It seems the offer was explicitly designed for ex-customers to entice them back, ie no new sky box.

Not if you tell them that there must be something wrong with your viewing card as a message keeps coming up on screen saying "For your information 01 Insert your Sky viewing card".

Which means you need to still have your box. If you don't have the box expect the discount to be reduced to probably 25% off with agree box. Or you can keep the 50% off when buying a box, you'll need to phone for a price on this!

You should be able to buy a 2nd hand box for £40 or less and keep the full discount. Even with just the entertainment package you would make a saving.
