Recording and box office fails
Hey all, my son recently wee'd into my sky+ box and totally murdered it lol so I swapped it with the second box I had unofficially bought for my bedroom and away I went...
However, when I put something on to record, if it's not on BBC, it disappears from my planner as soon as the program starts... I can't record anything unless I'm either watching it. Or I put it on to record while it's on screen, then I can turn over to something else...
And Box office says there is no room left on my viewing card.
Is there something I need to do in the settings to get this working properly? I've already linked my card to the different box but that didn't help...
Thanks in advance

Re: Recording and box office fails
When you swapped the boxes over, did you contact Sky and pair your viewing card to the replacement STB?
If you didn't, then please do call Sky. The call should take a few minutes and you will need to have the STB in front of you as they will need you to provide various numbers (viewing card, STB serial number).

Re: Recording and box office fails
No I didn't call sky, but I paired it through the menu on the box... is that not the same thing?
I may have a problem with ringing sky as I can't remember the password I set up with them when I joined and when I called them a few weeks ago about an unrelated issue, I couldn't get anything from them at all... is it right that they have no security questions other than 'what's your password?' Or was I just getting fobbed off again?
Thanks again.

What about trying the online card pairing facility?

Re: Recording and box office fails
Provided that the Sky subscription is in your name then your address and the viewing card number should be sufficient for data protection purposes. If the account is in another name then you will need the password before the adviser can access the account.
If you have a Sky ID I would follow speedyrite's suggestion.

For info: If you do forget your password, Sky will ask other information to verify your details. You may be asked to confirm personal facts about yourself (i.e. DOB, address) and perhaps the bank details for your Direct Debit.

That's not what they told me... they told me that if I couldn't remember it, they couldn't help me!!!
Did I get lied to?

Perhaps you got through to someone who was new, but I would definitely recommend that you call again.
