I wonder if some (rain) water has got into the dish cable? Try the box on the cables for your other box, which I assume is trouble free.

Re: Sound problem on Sky+ box

Have connected old sky box up. Not a box that records and it has only one input but tested it and sound is okay on it using either of the twin inputs so must be a problem with sky+ box. Have spoken to Sky and they confirm that a replacement will cost 199 drx890 but if I would like to replace with a 1TB box it will cost 49 proving that I take a HD sub with a years contract. Can buy a box from Amazon for around 100 which they say are new boxes but how can they sell them for around 100 when sky is 199 (DRX890 model) Still not sure what to do but think the 1TB box from Sky is a good deal. Thanks for your input as I have now eliminated any problems with dish cables.

I would buy the 1TB box tbh you will have loads of new storage space, and if you are not planning on leaving Sky, its a no brainer.
