possible cable or box problem
Hi Guys,
I was after some advise, if possible.
I currently have the old sky+ box. The White one. Had it for a few years now.
However recently when decorating we had it all unplugged
resetting up, when i turn it on i get the no signal is being recieved, error code 29. If i swap the feeds around. I get full tv but can only record what iam watching.
So it does sound like one of the feeds isnt working. Is there anyway to be sure it is not the box or is there a simple way to test a cable without having to recable the whole house?
Thanks in advance
steve

Re: possible cable or box problem
You certainly don't have to recable the whole place. Make sure the F-connectors on the input cables are nice and secure, not loose, hanging on by a thread. You could also check at the dish LNB as well.
Also, borrow someone else's box if possible, or take yours and try it at a friend's place. If it works OK, and you are getting good Signal Strength & Quality on both Inputs, your own cabling is probably faulty. If not, it will be the box at fault. What Make is it? ( Look at the back for the manufacturer's name ).Panasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305, Sky+HD Thomson 4E3007 (with upgraded PSU & WD5000AVDS HDD),
