Messy Sky TV cable coming out of the wall!
All
Had Sky HD installed for the first time in our property a few months ago, now decorating the lounge and one thing which annoyed me after install was the white sky cable coming out of white round plastic hole and from there it obviously goes to the sky box (in the other corner). What are my options to make this a bit more neat?
Thanks, any help appreciated!

Re: Messy Sky TV cable coming out of the wall!
Whilst you could fit a faceplate on the wall, it is better to use a single coax cable from the dish to your Sky STB.
It is also a good idea not to tightly fix the coax cable to the wall, skirting board or floor with cable clips as sharp bends can damage the core and pinching the cable will cause further damage.
If you must tidy it up in this manner, do it in a style which allows for gentle bends and not to pinch the cable.
Another way would be to use plastic cable trunking.
Personally I would be tempted to place a piece of art strategically in front of the entry point for the cable if it is annoying you. conveniently I have a piece of furniture in front of mine.

Some use a brush entry plate, but it is debatable whether this is more aesthetic than a simple cable entry grommet. Labgear Cable Entry/Exit BRUSH Faceplate for Wall Outlet - Single Gang - 70435R - Face Plates, Brush Face Plates, 70435R from kenable
You will also need to singe pattress box to fit this properly.

Thanks for the advice I may just try to hide it a little better rather than do anything too drastic!

You can use a good quality F connector plate with negligible signal disruption, provided that you fit the plugs correctly.

Wall Plates screened sockets
WARNING: don't use an unscreened plate from a DIY store or electrical supplier. These are intended for American TV aerial connection and are NOT suitable for LNB connection, regardless of what the salesman may say.

Re: Messy Sky TV cable coming out of the wall!
As you are decorating :-
1 - Rip off the skirting board.
2 - Chase a channel in wall down to floor boards.
3 - Lift floorboards
4 - Run cable in chase and under floorboards to other side of room.
5 - Plaster over chase and refit skirting.
Obviously a little tongue in cheek, however if you have carpets you can usually hide most of it under the edge or if you have wooden flooring prise the edge trim off and pop it behind there.

Or alternatively...you could move your TV and Sky Box to the same corner as the cable entry point from the dish....then everything would be hidden behind the telly or box?
