    Interactive? err. not really

This is a discussion on Interactive? err. not really within the Sky & Sky+ TV forums, part of the Other Sky help and support category; When Digital TC first came along, there was a lot of hype about the potential for "interactivity" with the viewer. ...

I am not a SS subscriber but I do remember a lot being said about sky using lots of cameras at footie and being able to view the game from many angles of choice (e.g. from goalie's perspective). But this was scrapped, right? why?

The most interactive we seem to get is the red button at wimbledon and olympic games.

I'd like to have a button to switch off background music in drama, e.g. it was so intrusive in "Body Farm" last night, and almost continual in Dr Who

      awww... I love Dr Who.

I would agree that it does appear that the BBC makes the most use of the 'Red Button'. Occasionally other channels use it, but not often.

At the same time, some channels now make use of the 'Audio Description' feature. This is for the hard of seeing and describes what is happening on the screen.

As for the music with Dr Who, perhaps it is because I have a surround sound system, but I find it alright.

Saying this, I remember my Nan complaining about certain TV presenters who were harder to understand than others. At the time she wouldn't admit that she was loosing her hearing. The problem was solved when she finally agreed to get a set of headphones.

Not the sound per se, I just don't like them being "nanny" and telling me how to feel by using music. Ok, a bit is effective, but in Dr Who it's way OTT.

I guess that this season has been a little more heavy with the music.

I suspect it might be to do with the Americans jointly funding it this year.

I don't think they are with Doctor Who but they definitely are with Torchwood as that is also being shown over the pond a few days before it hits our screens.

Body Farm didn't need so much scary music to make me feel revolted, lol

Sorry - I think you could be correct. I know that some of the first episodes of this season were recorded in the US.

The background sound in Paranormal 1 & 2 is fairly simple, but very effective.

Both are a 'must see' if you like horror.

I like horror but thought Body Farm was pretty boring (bar the revulsion) and Tara Fitzgerald is no Trevor Eve personality wise
