Call to upgrade on playback
I knew the packages were upgrading there on 1st September and I'd be going onto Entertainment Extra, so I recorded some stuff of the Discovery channel beforehand in August and it does show in the planner.
When I click to playback it says "call to upgrade" even though after the 1st sep I'm subscribed to that channel now. I thought they sky box recorded it into the box then just checked whether you subscribed in order to get it.
Or am I wrong and you have to be subscribed to the channel in order to record it. You'd think a message would just pop up when you press record to say you can't at the time in August. I hope someone understands what I'm going on about here suppose everything repeats anyway.

Re: Call to upgrade on playback
I've been caught out in a similar way with some recordings from another channel.
I also tried downloading some Anytime+ content from that channel yesterday and it too failed to play.
It might be worth contacting Sky to find out what is happening. They are quick enough to block existing recordings from subscription channels when you delete them from your package, so why not the reverse?

Re: Call to upgrade on playback
One phone call later to Sky...
It appears that they were not aware of this issue, but are now.
A signal was sent to my STB a couple of times to enable the channels correctly, but it appears that this didn't work. I got asked to perform a System Rebuild and again this didn't resolve things.
Having been passed to the Anytime+ team a message has been sent to technical as this appears to be affecting more people than just myself.
I should get a call back once the issue has been fixed. I am hoping that this call will be today or tomorrow.
Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon.

Re: Call to upgrade on playback
Just had a call back...
Essentially Anytime+ content will be gradually made available for those channels you hadn't subscribed to previously over the next few days.
If you have downloaded any Anytime+ content, then keep trying it over the next few days and it should become available to view. There is no requirement to download it again.
For those channels that you didn't subscribe to before 1st September, Showcase (or Anytime) content is slightly different though.
If it was already recorded on your STB before 1st September, then you will not be able to view that particular recording. However it may be re-recorded over the next week or so. If this happens, then you will be able to view it, as will you be able to view any other content freshly recorded on or after 1st September.

Re: Call to upgrade on playback
Anytime+ still not working for me Scubbie (for Discovery Realtime), how about you?
[bizarrely it does work for UK Food, which is another channel I have just been "given"]

Still no joy hear either. It's almost as much fun as watching paint dry.
Anyone got some grass that I can watch grow instead?
