Sky+ HD Question
We have sky TV bundle with phone and internet.
my mate had standard sky+ (not HD) in his room.
if i wanted a Sky+ HD box in my room would i need a Sky engineer to change the dish?
Also is it possible for me to have my own package with my own choice of channels so i wouldn't have to set up multiroom, and the monthly costs would come straight from my bank account
cheers

Re: Sky+ HD Question
If the dish has only one Sky+ box attached to it, it will not need changed.
Under most circumstances Sky will only supply TV to one account at one address. Multi room would be much cheaper, even if you upgrade to the channels you want.

Re: Sky+ HD Question
If your mate had his own dish ( not a communal dish ), and is no longer with Sky, you could use that. You would need to run a set of cables ( or a single twin-core ) from the dish to your room, and if the current dish LNB is a quad with 2 ports still available, you can certainly use it.
If you set up your own account with Sky, they'll come along and maybe do a fresh install of equipment from scratch, although that depends on the state of the existing gear..Panasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305, Sky+HD Thomson 4E3007 (with upgraded PSU & WD5000AVDS HDD),
