Looks like Sky have started messing with peoples packages already. Plenty of mentions on Sky's Twitter (@SKYHD) asking why they've lost Sky Sports News even though they were told they wouldn't lose any of their existing channels.

I think that is explained by your quote above

However, until then, unless you subscribe to News and Events, you may lose access to the channel between the 1 st August and the 1 st September. To continue to enjoy the channel during that month, you can upgrade to that channel pack for just 1 per month.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012

So much for a price freeze.
      Direct copy/paste from my bill.

Good news. From 1 September 2011, a single HD fee of 10.25 will now cover your whole home. This means that any Sky+ HD box with a multiroom subscription will now show stunning HD. If you currently pay more than one HD fee then this will automatically reduce, saving you at least 120 each year.
It may only be 3 pounds a year, but why am I and other 1 box users being forced to subsidise people with more than 1 box.

      eh?

I don't read any price increase there.

The HD supplement has been 10.25 since January 2011 when the VAT rates changed.

      PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

      Ooops!
I noticed that bit I pasted on my bill and thought it had gone up - didn't realise it had ages ago!

      Going by this
saving you at least 120 each year.
.....it does not look like they know it went up either

      (Hint - 10.25 x12=123.00)

Perhaps they rounded it down just incase VAT is reduced anytime in the next year and we will all get our 25p back.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012

Well, as expected. I've lost Sky Sports News. Have now written an email to SKY Customer Services AGAIN for them to convince me that I'll get this back on 1st September (which I doubt). If I don't, then they can stuff it all where the sun don't shine.
