Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012
Don't worry too much. From what has been posted so far, it seems that if you have one or more of the variety packs with channels in the 'Entertainment Extra' list, then Sky Sports News will still be included.
As for the magazines, it appears that the 'Sky Magazine' is finishing now, so you won't get a copy in future. sky will be relying more on the emails in future.
There are two others. You only get these if you subscribe to the right channels.
- Sky Movie Magazine - if you subscribe to both Movie Packs
- Sky Sports Magazine - if you subscribe to both Sports Packs
Since the changes are quite important, Sky should be contacting everyone in due course. This may be in the form of a letter or email if you don't get the magazine.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012
We are on Sky World and our letter tells us we are moving to Entertainment Extra and will get all the benefits of this at no extra charge.
Ummmm but on Sky World (which is not mentioned at all in the letter) we have always had these channels anyhow, so a bit confused by this wording.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012
At the moment i have the variety pack + knowledge, the letter i got with the magazine said i would be moving up to the entertainment package (not plus). Will have to wait and see what happens, obviously wont be very happy if they take my current channels away and replace with the style and culture pack
edit: I was recently thinking about getting an extra pack (music), would it be worth getting now, making sure i get moved to the entertainment extra pack, or holding out until september when it will (hopefully) be free?Last edited by mrbish82; 15-07-11 at 12:45 AM.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012
I am a little puzzled now. The contents of the Knowledge Pack are only available in the new Entertainment Extra Pack.
If it helps, I have 3 packs (Variety, Knowledge & children's Packs).
Perhaps this is where the cut-off is? (i..e. 2 packs)
I would guess that if you changed after September, Sky would be inclined to charge you the full price of the Entertainment Extra Pack.
Whether you would get away with it is is anyone's guess, but it a friendly phone call to get it corrected on the basis that you would be loosing channels doesn't work, I would be tempted to ass the Music pack now.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012
I think i'll do that then, i know in the past i've been told something is 100% by sky customer service staff and it didn't happen, i've just got a funny feeling they might put me on the standard entertainment package because it's 2 packs = 2 packs, then when i find the knowledge pack has been swapped for the style & culture, i'll be told i have to pay the £25 to get access to the knowledge channels again.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012
I'm more bemused than confused!
I have Variety+Sports, however my letter makes no mention at all of being moved to any new pack or any reference to price freezes or price changes.
My letter just reminds me that Sky Mag is ceasing and to sign up for Sky Highlights e-mail.++ speedyrite ... powered by NOW Broadband from June 2018 ++
