I wasn't too sure what was happening. I guess because Sky have used a different structure to put it all together.

It is mentioned in the letter which pack you'll be moved to. A short summary of some of the included channels is also included in the letter.

There is no breakdown of the channels that I can find quickly in the Sky magazine or the Sky Movies magazine.

One thing that should be emphasised perhaps though is that normally people criticise Sky for NOT rewarding existing customers.

In this instance, new customer from 1st September will be paying the new higher prices, whilst existing customers will have their prices remaining unchanged for 1 year.

A simple message for anyone thinking of leaving to get their spouse to become the account holder and get new equipment: Do it now & quickly!

At the same time, this won't help those who genuinely change because a partner has moved out.

I hate how they think people won't notice what they are doing!!

I haven't got children, so why should I pay for the kiddies or music channels?

I was thinking of upgrading to HD, but now I'm not going to. I'm going to look at Freesat HD instead.

FED UP WIITH CONSTANT PRICE RISES SKY!!!! EVERY FRAKING YEAR!!!
Protect the environment - stop having children.

      eh?

As RDC has implied, what price rise?

There is NO price rice for the entertainment packs this year for existing customers. The prices will take effect from September 2012 though for existing customers.

However, new customers will be charged the higher rate from September 2011.

i.e. you'll get the additional channels for FREE!

Sorry, my bad, I DO get SSN on my TV (with just Variety) - obviously an anomaly with the Sky player, where I don't get it.

From September 2011 the prices for NEW customers will be:

      • For the 'Entertainment Pack' 20
      • For the 'Entertainment Extra Pack' 25

You will have one or the other as the 'Entertainment Extra Pack' includes the 'Entertainment Pack' channels.

Oh thanks. In the bit I quoted you mention Sep 2012 ("The prices will take effect from September 2012 though for existing customers."), so I wondered if you knew what prices were jumping up to then

No problem, that's partially why I was very careful to requote things.

I still haven't had mine but it is usually on the letter that has your address on the other side. This time last year when they were announcing the subs were going up I never got sent the letter but for some reason they emailed me about it, it was the first and only time they have done it this way.
