If I recall correctly Sky Sports News is part of the News & Events pack. If you are getting it on the Variety pack then what Sky must have done is made it available on the paid subscription meaning you could Sky Sports News by subscribing to at least one pack (doesn't matter which one).

That's the way I see it.
TBH, I always though Sky Sports News was part of the News & Events pack too. However, I don't pay for the News & Events Pack, just the Variety pack. Have I just been 'lucky' to get Sky Sports News since they last re-jigged the packages?

Thanks for that link. I've been busy today so hadn't been able to look at everything.

I had my delivery of the Sky magazines & the letter today. In the letter it stated that I would be placed on the 'Entertainment Extra Pack'. I was worried that I might lose a few channels but that page has made things a lot clearer.

Essentially I'll be getting the contents of the Entertainment pack & the additional channels in the 'Extra' pack. This I wasn't clear about previously.

I don't subscribe to the Sports channels or the News pack under the present packages and I can receive the Sky Sports News channels.

I think that Sky News and Sky Sports news are broacdcast unencrypted as some deal with OFCOM.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

I haven't had my letter or magazine yet (is it me or are these mags getting later and later into the month) but from what you have said it is what I thought would happen in that they have to move people who currently subscribe to channels that are in both of the mixes onto the extra pack.

BTW, I posted this link much earlier in the thread

I hav'nt got my letter or magazine yet either yet and i've also noticed it's been getting delivered later and later as this years gone on and it's the last time it be published monthly as after July it will be delivered only four times a year.

Re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012

I got mine last week, maybe it was delivered by pony express

I didn't see anything about the new packs, was it in the letter on the back of the address label or in one of the mags? I haven't opened the mags yet.

Well that's BIZARRE - if I try to tune into Sky Sports News on my PC I get "you need the Sports or News packs to watch this channel", so my Variety pack subscription is different from Donny's!!!!!!!!!!!!
