Slightly confused here as I currently only have 2 entertainment packs here (Variety and Knowledge) so which new pack will I end up on as all the Variety channels are in the new 20 pack but Knowledge channels are all in the new 25 one???

Sure I read somewhere you need at least 3 existing packs to get the new 25 pack. Is it worth me adding another pack on now for an extra 1?

It might be but I would wait until you get the letter telling you what is going to happen.

James, you will go on the entertainment extra pack. Due to the price freeze you won't see any difference in your bills, and you'll have all the sky channels bar movies and sports.

If you have variety and/or style & culture packs your sub just stays the same.

19.50 -> 20.00 if just have Variety? I read it as the price freeze is from Aug 2011-> Aug 2012, not now until Aug 2012. Just an academic point, as I won't cry for a 50p increase

That's a very good point Donny, Sky Sports News also listed only in the "Extra" pack whereas at present is available in the most basic of subscriptions .

Sky always like to leave us guessing don't they ?!!!

Sky News is FTA so you will get that no problem.
If I recall correctly Sky Sports News is part of the News & Events pack. If you are getting it on the Variety pack then what Sky must have done is made it available on the paid subscription meaning you could Sky Sports News by subscribing to at least one pack (doesn't matter which one).

That's the way I see it.

re: Sky TV subscription frozen until August 2012

I'm even more confused now the more I look at those 'new' prices on this page

I have currently have 2 entertainment packs + dual movies here which is currently costing me 36.50 a month but according to that page that combination will cost me 41.00 (16.00 + 25.00) from September

      Is this correct?

Sky informed me via Facebook that because I currently pay for the Knowledge pack as this is part of the Entertainment Extra pack, this is what I'll move onto. Entertainment Extra also includes everything in the Entertainment pack, even though that's not immediately obvious (well to me anyway).

Those new prices don't make any sense to me as current entertainment packs are supposed to be 1.00 each with dual movies costing 16.00, so why is dual movies currently costing me 36.50 - 2.00 = 34.50 ???????

This is what I pay now:

      Sky+HD Pack 06/07/11 - 05/08/11 10.25
      Sky+ Subscription 06/07/11 - 05/08/11 0.00
      Sky+ Subscription 06/07/11 - 05/08/11 0.00
      Sky+HD Pack 06/07/11 - 05/08/11 10.25
      2 Pack with Movies Pack 06/07/11 - 05/08/11 36.50
      Extra Subscription 06/07/11 - 05/08/11 10.25
      Subtotal: 67.25

Obviously from September one of the 10.25 HD pack prices will disappear but those new prices don't seem to compare to what I pay now in any way shape of form???

Am I missing something here? Sorry if I sound thick as well.

Yes. The first pack costs 19.50 which can be seen as the base price. Each additional pack costs 1 pound.

      Current Breakdown

      19.50 for Pack 1
      1.00 for Pack 2
      16.00 for Dual Movies
36.50 = Total as per your statement

Dual movies currently cost 16 and they will cost 16 after the September price changes too. Hence, no change for you.
