'No satellite signal is being received' - code 25
During the last week or so various channels suddenly go blank with the message "No satellite signal is being received" with the number 25 on the top right. I've not been able to ascertain which channels are affected but it seems fairly random.
I switch off the plug at the mains, wait a few seconds, switch it back on and then all channels are available to me again.
I have a Sky+ HD box and am connected to a communal dish.
Does anybody have any tips/explanation which would help?
TIA.

Ask around and see if anyone else is having the same problems. What make of box do you have? eg Amstrad, Samsung etc.
Panasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305, Sky+HD Thomson 4E3007 (with upgraded PSU & WD5000AVDS HDD),

Re: 'No satellite signal is being received' - code 25
I've just heard from a couple of other people who've been having the same problem, so it looks like it must be a problem with the communal dish. Any idea on how easy it is to get that fixed? Going through the management company of my development will inevitably lead to a very lengthy response...

I'd suggest that someone gets nominated to contact the management company on behalf of all of you.
with their consent (assuming that it is you for example) you could then speak to the company on their behalf and let them know that the problem isn't limited to just one connection.

Re: 'No satellite signal is being received' - code 25
We're having the same pixellation problems and the "No satellite signal..." message but only on these channels:
107, 108, 121, 124, 165, 253, 174 & 175. There may be others but these are some of our regularly watched channels. I tried the LNB Reset suggestion mentioned on here - but it made no difference.
Tonight I'm getting "There is a technical fault with this channel, please try again later"
Other channels are fine. Any ideas? TV station problem? Sky box problem? Solar flare problem??

Re: 'No satellite signal is being received' - code 25
Since no one else has been posting this evening to ask the same, I would be inclined to ask which STB you have please?
Full make and model is located on a label on the back of the most of them (i.e. Amstrad DRX890).
As a shot in the dark, I suspect that you may have a Thomson STB. If this is the case it sounds like you may have a failing PSU inside. Search this forum for 'Thomson PSU' to find out more information.
Sky are currently replacing many of this model as it is no longer possible to add additional services that they wish to add to the others. The upgrade can be FOC in some cases. Again search this forum for more info.
