      Sky Box Help Tech

      One of my Sky Boxes throws up the Error that no signal is being received, and I have to turn it off at the plug wait a few mins and then its ok again, Now I have Multiroom and it always happens to the Sky+box, Never had a problem with the SKY HD box.

      any Advice ???

      What make are both boxes? eg Amstrad, Pace, Samsung or Thomson
      Panasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305, Sky+HD Thomson 4E3007 (with upgraded PSU & WD5000AVDS HDD),

      Actually Just Solved the problem, there is no Signal coming in at input 2, Sky Protect coming out Monday. :-)

      Might be a cable, LNB or connector problem.

      Switch the box off at the mains, and disconnect the Input 2 cable. Make sure there's no stray wire hanging around the F-connector at the end of the cable. It may also just be loose. Also, make sure there's 3mm of centre core in the connector to make good contact with the Dish Input socket.

      If everything looks OK, reconnect the cable to the box Dish Input, and reboot the box.

      Other possible problems:

      LNB faulty
      Cable chafed or frayed somewhere
      Water in the cable
      Loose or corroded F-connector at the dish
      Old dish

      Some or all of your external gear may be replaced.
