No satellite signal is being received 25

      Hmmm,

getting the above problem appearing intermittently.

      Setup is -
      • one HD box (not showing the error but problems with skipping frames on HD channels)
      • One Sky+ box which is showing the error but only on some channels
      • One old standard Sky box which is also showing the error but only on some channels

On the Sky+ box Input 1 signal strength and quality are both near max
input 2 signal strength about 60% and quality about 75%

Strangely, the standard sky box is showing channels that sky+ box is not and vice versa.

I did an LNB reset with no joy.

My dish was disturbed during high winds a few months back (almost fell off) but I got an independent engineer to put it back up.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

      g.

Re: No satellite signal is being received 25

      Suggestions:

Dish misaligned, or just plain old, rusty, or mucky.
      LNB faulty.
F-connectors at LNB loose or corroded.
      Water ingress somewhere.
Thomson HD box ( if applicable ) PSU fault.

Switch off the boxes at the mains one by one and check the F-connectors at the back of each box. Make sure there is 3mm of centre core in the connector to make good contact with the input socket, and also make sure there is no loose/stray wire anywhere. If necessary, cut back and re-make. ( see How to fit F Connectors to coaxial cable ).

Check the cable runs for wear-and-tear.
