      Sky+ Box Crashing

      Hi All

I have a non HD Sky+ box and it keeps crashing and powering itself off, but only when using the "new" Sky News interactive Red Button. It doesn't happen with the BBC News interactive service - just Sky News (which I prefer). General viewing has no problems at all.

Have done a software update using the backup button/power off & on routine, but still have the problem.

Anybody else seen this before and is there a solution?

      Many thanks

      Dumfy

      Re: Sky+ Box Crashing

Many people are having this problem since just before last weekend. Mainly on Sky+ ( not HD boxes ). Sky are well aware of this and are investigating. Pace and Thomson models seem to be the most affected, although in the case of Thomsons, this may be due to the usual PSU capacitor problem. As you have already done a software update, I suggest you leave things as they are at the moment.

Sky are asking for Version and Model details of affected boxes on their Help Forum thread topic.
      Panasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305, Sky+HD Thomson 4E3007 (with upgraded PSU & WD5000AVDS HDD),

      Re: Sky+ Box Crashing

      Many thanks for that, Kenedin.

Seems it's a common fault. Have logged my details on the Sky Forum from the link you gave.

      Hope for a resolution soon.

      Appreciate the help
