2 way splitter from satellite would this work?
Hi,
We have an HD sky box in lounge, the signal comes straight from dish.
When the HD was installed, they left the old cable attached to box, so I could use it in my son's bedroom, which feeds into a sky box in his bedroom.
Im wondering whether I could use a satellite 2 way splitter to split this connection into 2 so I can have it in my daughters bedroom as well, I have another sky box, so is this as simple as taking the connection out of my sons box fitting the 2 way splitter & fitting 2 new leads, 1 to my sons box & 1 to my daughters box. Would this work & they would be able to watch their own channels?
Thanks
Eve

Nope, not a good idea! If you split the feed, they will have to watch a channel that is on the polarization, not an easy solution and will cause rows, as one box will always override the other.
If you have sky HD and 1 other standard box, then you will have a spare output on the LNB. Simply connect a satellite cable to it and run it to your daughters room.
An installer will charge £50-£70 for this.
