Getting a Sky HD box without taking out Sky HD?
Hi all,
Basically, I have a Sky+ box that is hooked up to my old 28" Widescreen CRT (which works fab and doesnt have any problems).
Now, my Sky+ box is old and doesnt allow for Anytime, so that is quite annoying! I also use Sky Player on my laptop to watch the online movie content that they have, so I guess I would love to have an Anytime+ compatible box as well.
So my question is, is it possible to barter with Sky for them to send me a Sky HD box and then not have to pay for a HD subscription?
What are the chances that would work, or is there a method for doing this that I dont already know about???
Cheers!

There is no harm is trying, but I doubt that it would work.
I would suggest that you search eBay if possible. People are often selling 2nd hand Sky+ HD boxes on there.
Alternatively you might find one advertised in a local paper.

Re: Getting a Sky HD box without taking out Sky HD?
People whose old Sky boxes have gone faulty have been known to get new Amstrad DRX890's as replacements. These boxes are now the standard Sky+ box ( for SD and HD sub customers ). Unfortunately, a new box is not a definite, so you'd be taking pot luck as to what would replace the old unit.
