Hide red button info?

Is there any way to permanently hide the red button info on screen?

I have a new Sky HD box.

No, all you can do is press the backup button when it appears.

No. Best you can do is to switch ON the On-Screen Icon Timeout in Services>Options>Customise. The red button usually ( but not always! ) then disappears after 30 seconds. Or just press backup to get rid of it when it appears.

Thanks, I'm surprised they haven't given us an option to disable or at least reduce the time out. I can't be the only one that's bugged by it.

To be far Simon, I personally don't tend to notice it that often anymore.

I find the 'Press Green to remind' message more annoying on the Sky channels, but the tip on pressing Backup is useful, so thanks for bring this up.

The Backup button is by far the most used button on our remote control for just this reason.

Far more irritating is that usually the same red button icon is used on screen irrespective of whether it leads to generic, advertising-based or program-related content.

or you can stick the box on live pause and watch with a 1 sec delay.

I had to resort to that when once when the BBC decided to stick up a huge red button icon over Dr Who.
