      Error 28 (con ??) . Woking ,Surrey area .Anyone else ?

      At around 5pm today I got error message 28 for channels 1,2,4 ,5 and 410 and 411 (Eurosport). I rang Sky who then spent 20 minutes talking me through turning off and on etc etc etc. Then they said they would have to get an engineer out to me. They said I would have to pay 65 OR take out some expensive 90 day insurance. I questioned this but for 20 minutes more they tried to insist I had to. Eventually they put me through to someone else who said they would get engineer to me on Monday with a new sky box. I believe this is a simple scam to get people to take out such expensive policies and pay 65 fee for engineer. I wonder if anyone else in Woking, Surrey or elsewhere has had this "tactic" used on them ?? For certain
      I believe VirginMedia are much better, or at least Sky are S***

      Where's the scam ? If your box is out of warranty, and you haven't taken out insurance, Sky charge you 65 to send out a fitter. You don't have to take the insurance out with Sky - quite a few companies do it.

      If you think that 65 is too much for someone to turn out, I suggest you call a plumber or electrician, and see how much they charge !

      I run my own plumbing firm and charge 45 for a call, this would not include any parts though so for 65 to repair whatever is needed is a bargain.

      Try taking your car in to the garage you bought it from outsode of it's warranty and see if they will replace the engine or gearbox FOC
