I get a 'No satellite signal' message every 10 mins.

      Hi All,

I get a 'No satellite signal' message every 10 mins can anyone advise as to what may be causing this?

I'm using a new communal satellite system and has been happening for the last few days, but was fine for the first week or so.

      Thanks,
      David.

Could be weather, could be that the communal system has not been installed properly, could be bad cable runs. What signal level do you get on your feed and is your box in single feed mode if you only have one feed from the communal system?

      1. How long does the message stay on screen?
      2. Is it occurring every 10.0 minutes exactly or does it vary?
      3. Are your neighbours experiencing the same problem? (Ask, because you need to determine whether the problem is limited to your dwelling or is affecting the whole building.)
      4. What's the make and model number of your Digibox (on the label)?
      5. What turns on every ten minutes? (Boiler? Water heater?)

Re: I get a 'No satellite signal' message every 10 mins.

      Thanks for the replies.

PaulSky - Its in dual feed mode and I get around 4/5 signal on input 1 and about 2/3 or input 2 normally, then nothing when the problem occurs.

      MartinP -
      1. The message stays on the screen for about 30 seconds and then goes back to normal.
      2. I timed it and it seems to be every 5 or so mins at the moment, not sure if its happening quicker or not. It does seem very consistent. Not sure if its bang on five mins, but its not far off.
      3. Not sure, but I only have one neighbour I can knock on the door of, and I don't think he has Sky, however I will check. I will also phone the landlord to see if other people have said the same thing.
      4. Its the latest Sky HD box, not the 1TB one.
      5. Nothing that I'm aware of.

Thanks again for your replies, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      David.
