Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
My Sky+ box feeezes whenever I select Planner and I cannot Back Up, change channels or even turn it off from the remote.
This has happened in the past and I suspect it is because the disk is nearly full.
When it has happened in the past I have power cycled and been able then to access and use the Planner.
Now everytime I try Planner it freezes, so I am unable to access any of my recordings, or even delete some to hopefully clear the problem!
Can anyone suggest a way that I can do this?
When it first happened, I phoned Sky and they gave me a routine. But when I followed up to check they confirmed "Oh yes it will delete all your recordings"!
I will try that, but only as a very last resort, since I have many programs saved that I want to watch.
Thanks in advance
Nigel

Re: Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
Try a Planner Rebuild. Press Services, 4, 0, 1, Select. Then Option 7 - Planner Rebuild. If the process hangs for more than a couple of minutes, unplug, reboot and try again. A Planner Rebuild does not delete your recordings. If you can then get back into the Planner page, use the >Options, then the coloured ( red? - can't remember ) 'Recordings' button to reveal any hidden failed recordings. Delete these.

Re: Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
Kenedin,
Many thanks for that.
I didn't get very far, but maybe I am doing wrong.
Services 4 got me to to SBO and the 0 did nothing.
If I go to Services and scroll right (4) to Planner then it locks up, but maybe that is to be expected.
If you can offer a bit more prompting I would be very grateful.
Many thanks

Re: Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
Ignore what is on the screen, you need to press the quite quickly, services, 4, 0, 1, select and you will enter the installer menu.
If you have a Sky HD receiver, this is services, 0, 0, 1, select.

Re: Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
I must be going wrong somewhere!
I am pressing Servcies,0,0,1 (as I do have Sky+HD)
But I get to Settings/Picture after Services,0 and then no further.
The box isn't frozen at the point and I can back-up and try again, but fast or slow I still only get to the same point.
Anymore advice available?
Thanks
Nigel

Re: Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
I have the same problem when I try to get money from the ATM. I start to enter my PIN but all it puts on the screen is asterisks. What am I doing wrong?
Anyway, being serious now, the PIN sequence for your Sky+HD Digibox is [services] 001 [select]
(It's strange how people can't grasp this concept. I had one guy complain that "there is no zero on the screen!" I had to explain to him that the buttons were on his Remote Control - not on the screen!)

Re: Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
There we are, it IS my fault - I read Select, but didn't READ it!
When I get home I will do it right - promise!
Thanks

Re: Sky + freezes when selecting Planner
I am back home now after some family problems.
I did the 0,0,1, Select and chose Rebuild Sky+
It worked on it for just a few seconds and switched off (didn't reboot as the screen suggested it should)
Turning on again it was slow, first showing a blue screen for a short while.
Then when the channel 999 showed I tried the Planner, but it froze as soon as it showed.
Frozen - as in the remote doesn't have any effect, but the mini screen is still showing channel 999.
Is there a next step or is it broken?
Thanks
Nigel
