      engineer didnt connect to phone line

      i had sky+HD fitted last week and the engineer didnt attatch my box to my phoneline
      but i am having my line connected with sky so will they do this when the open reach engineer visits next week?
      also when i try to order my broadband online it tells me i have an incompatible line, is this because the engineer hasnt been to my house even though the line works already?

      If you already have a BT line installed and are transfering to Sky's line rental then there will be no need for an engineer to call, the work is done at the exchange.

      If you don't plan to use the interactive features then there is no need to have the phone connected but if you want it then ring Sky and tell them that it hasn't been done by the installer and they should get someone else out, BT will not do it for you.

      This often happens with new phone lines. It can take 10-14 days for the line to be entered in the various data bases required for it to show as compatible. Just keep checking.

      Another reason for this can be if you have another broadband provider on the line, this can also show as 'incompatible'.
