Moving House - Some advice please.
Hi all,
I am moving house in 3 weeks time and I would greatly appreciate some advice please.
Would it worth me ending my Sky contract which I've had for a long time and take out a new contract at my new house with the new Sky bundles or stick with what I have.
Maximum speeds and low latency with unlimited downloads is a given and have always had this along with Sky talk, line rental etc. Sky+ with more or less the basic package is what I have for TV.
It would be nice to get a new router and box!
Many thanks.

Re: Moving House - Some advice please.
I have spoken to Sky and they gave some old flannel about even if I cancel I would not be treated as a new customer unless it had a 12 month gap between ending and starting contracts. Also that the price would not end up being any different but I would be able to renew my router as mine is 5 years old now.
Any further thoughts?

Hi you could start a new contract in your partners name at the new house then you would be classed as a New Customer`s

Unless you told them you were moving theres no reason for them not to give new customer offers to you. After all your name wont be unique in the country
If you wanted to guarantee you'd get the new offers then you could use a different bank account to pay for it.

Re: Moving House - Some advice please.
Or, advise you are moving, give date etc.
Then, when you are in, ring them, request what you want (multi room etc), and when they spring the cost, just say you rang before you moved, and were told at the time there was no fee for installing etc etc etc
They'll check with supervisor, and lo and behold your request will be granted

Re: Moving House - Some advice please.
I believe it's to do with the bank account the payment comes from, not the name or address.
If the contract was cancelled and then a new one taken out when you get to the new house with the same name but a different bank account for the payment I think you would be seen as a new customer.
We've recently moved house and I did quite a bit of research into the pros\cons of cancelling or doing the house move.
The house move was a knightmare!! TV pack no problem (done within 24 hours) - phone & broadband was ridiculous and 2 months on it is still not sorted!
