Watching Sky+ Recordings without a satellite connection
morning all,
I upgraded to HD in the week (did the self install) and I wondering if there is a way to watch the stuff I have recorded on my Sky+ box without the satellite connection.
I switched my standard multiroom box for this one so it has a card paired with it, and I am using a splitter for the phone line so both boxes are connected.
The multiroom room is upstairs in the small bedroom (computer room) and there isn't really enough room up there for 2 people to comfortably watch TV in there. So I was hoping to have both boxes connected to the TV downstairs for a while.
However when I go to the planner it says without a satellite signal this function won't work (or words to that affect). So can I watch the recordings on the Sky+ without switching the cables to and from the HD box?

Re: Watching Sky+ Recordings without a satellite connection
Unfortunately not. At least one input has to be receiving a signal for this to work.

They don't like to make life easy do they
It's a shame they don't offer a migration service for your old recordings (I probably would have paid for the engineer installation if they did)

Re: Watching Sky+ Recordings without a satellite connection
You could still hook up one input onto each box downstairs ( use Input 1 on each) for a while and watch your recordings on the Sky+ box. It would mean you would have to activate Single Feed Mode on the HD box for a while, and you would only have a limited recording function with this set up, but it would avoid you having to keep switching boxes. When you've seen all your stuff on the Sky+ box, reconnect both inputs on the HD box, switch OFF Single Feed Mode and you'll be back to normal.
