sky remote code needed

she's had it about a year.
when i first investigated this, i realised it was 1 of those 1 offs that shops commission a company to make for them- in this case comet.
after trying every jvc code & being led a merry dance on the phone: sky>jvc>comet>sky etc i just gave up.
i've been checking here & there every now & again, but the message above is a new development.
am i to interpret it as 'yes we have a code, but you must wait until rev10'?

I have no idea when Sky will release the next version.

Personally I tend to avoid Combo TVs as typically the DVD (or VCR) part breaks, leaving the TV as just a TV.

It's high time Sky ended this Remote Version farce, put a mini USB on the remotes with suitable software, and allowed users to connect to a website to download the latest codes, something like Logitech Harmony.

That would be too logical for Sky.

They would not get so many licensing fees would they?

so just to clarify, despite entering rev9 at the link scubbie posted, getting the message 'We have an exact match for your TV model, but this code is not stored on your version of the Sky Remote control. You will need to upgrade to the latest version of the Sky Remote Control to use this code.' is supposed to be interpreted as 'wait until we make rev10?
how can my mum upgrade to the latest version, when she already has it & the next version is likely to be 2 years away?
