sky+ box wakes up at 5am

Hi All

Have recently added a sky+ box to our bedroom and annoyingly everyday at about 5am the hard drives spring into action for a few seconds waking me up (its about 3ft from me).
Anyone know what its doing, and if so how to stop it?

I have tried putting the sky box on a timer switch which cuts the power between 1am and 7am but since then we seem to get lots of failed recordings, even though they dont record between these times. Could it be related to the other problem? btw, I`ve disabled sky anytime so its not that.

It could be the EPG updating. Ear-plugs may be the only solution.

yea could be the channel list updating sometimes what happens when sky update it you get a message on the channel lists saying no information available or somthing like that usally its sky updating them probably adding more channels on the ever grown list but if its waking you up you could er ring sky up and ask them about it maybe they could find a solution to it. i must admit ive got the ordinary sky box in my bedroom and it dont wake me up at night but you mentiond sky+ so must be different to mine

It's the Anytime download, I've heard ours do it. I would recommend turning off anytime.

He confirmed in his post that he had already turned this off.

Don't think it matters whether the Anytime is disabled or not. The 'wake up' signal is sent for one reason or another. Maybe an Anytime download, which is naturally rejected by the box, or something else being updated. My box in standby leaps into life at all sorts of odd hours.

Oops; At least his box wakes up at 5am, despite my body moving, it appears the brain only half does so.
