New customers joining SKY get a free SKY+ box offer.

I am looking for a relative who has just resigned from a job who paid for her Virgin Media package (TV, BB and Phone) and will now be losing the whole thing as she cannot afford to pay for the whole thing herself. I was thinking of buying her a SKY+ box with 2 of the packages. However when looking on the site I was hit by a wall of problems which need answering. Was on hold for 30 minutes to SKY to talk to them but gave up (not the most patient of men).

      1. She lives in a ground floor flat which has another 5 (?) on top. Whilst I know that flats are a bit different than houses re: installing SKY. However; if a couple of flats (in her block) already have a dish installed, will her living in a flat matter?

      2. According to the offer, you must take phone and BB with the box. However, when we put her number into the BB section they told us she wasn't able to receive SKY BB yet in her area. Can she still have the offer without the BB?

      3. She may struggle to keep up the line rental and so will they install without a landline being present? I could maybe pay the line rental for her but would struggle to pay for the cost of her calls as she likes calling during the day.

As long as there are no restrictions on installing a dish there should be no problems. Not all flats are restricted to using a communal dish, some permit individual dishes.

I thought broadband was optional. Double click the tick in the broadband box to remove it.

If she makes a lot of call during the day SkyTalk unlimited at a fiver is probably the best bet. plus line rental of course. They used to install without a landline for a one off payment of 25, but I don't know if they still do it.
