Silly question re password
Ok, this is a bit of a dumb question but I am possibly getting a Sky+ box off my mum to replace the standard Sky box that I have installed in my bedroom (Sky HD in living room). Since I'll have to phone Sky to pair the card with the box, will the password that you get on say film channels during the day be the numbers I have preset with MY viewing card or will it default to the last 4 digits of my mums viewing card?

Re: Silly question re password
you keep the card that you are using with your present box (standard skybox)
unsure about passcodes

Re: Silly question re password
If you have a white card, just get that paired with the box. You can change the PIN to anything you like you know, the last 4 numbers are just default for convenience. Not having under-age viewers, I use 4 x 1s

Re: Silly question re password
I think you've both misunderstood my question.
I know I can change the password from the default last 4 digits of my viewing card and indeed have done so. The question is, if I get my mums STB and get my card paired to it, will the STB recognise the password I have setup with MY viewing card or will it by default use the last 4 digits of her viewing card until I change the password?

Think it will still have her number on it.

Re: Silly question re password
. The PIN is held in the box, not the card. This is proved by the fact that the PIN is not changed when you put in the new white card. If the card had anything to do with it, the PIN would revert to the card number when you put the new card in. It doesn't. Your mother's PIN will still be active, until you change it.
