Sky+ and Sky+ HD Subscription Charges

I thought it may be useful to make people aware of this, as I saw another post about this recently...

Last month I emailed Sky because my online bill showed that I had been charged for a Sky+ AND Sky+ HD subscription. When Sky replied, they reassured me I had not been charged for both. However, same thing on this months bill.

I emailed Sky again and referred them to the sections of my bill where I had been charged. Sure enough, they have been charging me Sky+ AND Sky+ HD subscription for the past 5 months and have now received a nice credit of 40 to my next bill.

I would advise other people who have Sky+ HD to check this also.

      Paul.

Mine says "Sky+ Subscription 0.00" so no problems here but thanks for the heads up.

Sky+ and Sky+ HD Subscription Charges

I'm not feeling so smug now. Lost my Sky+ Subscription this afternoon (can't rewind/pause/record etc.)

Phoned Sky and after being cut off three times, found they'd cancelled my Sky+ Subscription... how they managed this when I entered a new 12mth contract last September I'll never know). They also have me registered as having three Sky boxes and 2 HD subscriptions (even though I only have one box).

Because they have me registered as having three boxes, they can't put my Sky+ Subscription back on so my query/complaint has now gone to their 'specialist' department (code for, the guy on the phone had no idea).

      Urgh!!

Seems like they have screwed up somewhere, how long have you had Sky HD and have they charged you like this before. Either way it seems as if they owe you some money for over charging you and you could possibly angle for some compensation for the hassle of having to phone them up and the like. I wonder what made them suddenly kill you Sky+ subscription.

Re: Sky+ and Sky+ HD Subscription Charges

I've been with Sky for years. Had HD since September 2009. When they thought they'd have to send an engineer, they said I would have to pay because I'd had HD since 2008... I really had to argue and convince them only since September 2009.

It was me that had to explain my Sky+ subscription had been cancelled - three people I spoke to had NO idea and were convinced it was a technical issue that required an engineer.

It makes me laugh - if I wanted to cancel Sky+ within a year of my contract they would tell you it's impossible. But they managed to do it without me asking! I have nothing but praise for Sky until now.

Re: Sky+ and Sky+ HD Subscription Charges

Had a letter today threatening to charge me unless I reinstate my Sky+ subscription because I cancelled within my contract period.

It wasn't me that cancelled it - Sky did. Not a happy bunny and have sent a formal complaint to them.

I am not surprised you are not happy, I wouldn't be either. I would also (if you haven't already) try phoning them again about this letter that they have sent you and also your previous problems and what, if anything, is being done to sort the whole mess out. I would also email the top boss (whoever that is these days) at sky as that usually get things sorted. Good luck and keep us up to date.

Re: Sky+ and Sky+ HD Subscription Charges

Had another letter today, so have again complained:

Thank you for your lovely letter dated 10/2/2010 regarding Sky+ HD Pack. Thanks also for your reply to my recent 2 page complaint (which you must have forgotten to send me)... though I did appreciate your one-line email response.

Could someone actually take the time to look at my account, spot the part in which YOU terminated my Sky+ HD subscription in error and see that the latest letter you have sent me is pointless, rude and intrusive - threatening to take money from my debit card.

I had nothing but praise for Sky up until the last few months where you are constantly making mistakes on my account, terminating my subscription, failing to respond to my complaints and over charging me.

I would now like to know how I can terminate my Sky contract because you are failing to provide any type of stable service.

A prompt and full response would be appreciated.

      Paul Stephens

Re: Sky+ and Sky+ HD Subscription Charges

I really wouldn't bother with letters if I was in your position. Keep phoning them and sooner or later you should get someone who can help. Failing that have you tried emailing the well known people (top bods) who work at Sky ?

Re: Sky+ and Sky+ HD Subscription Charges

Phoned Sky tonight and asked to speak to a manager. Finally (so they say) everything has been resolved. They have also given me Sky World Package at half price for three months... providing I have no more letters, I'm quite happy with that
