      Sky+ wont record or pause

      Hi All,

My sky+ plus box has recently stopped recording, pausing or rewinding.

Yesterday I tried a friends Sky+ box and the above functions donít work on that either.

I tried both cables (from the dish) in input 1 and I got a picture, sound & sky menusí, so I donít think itís a fault with either of those cable or the dish. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

I don't think the fact that another box does not work proves anything. The card would have to be paired with the box for all the functions to be available. If you are sure your card is properly paired and you have not had the functions cut off through not subscribing, have a look at the following.

Try doing a planner rebuild, press
      Services 4 0 1 Select
Note that nothing will happen after you press the 0 or 1 until you press Select. You will not loose any recordings.

If that does not work, try a software update. Go to Standby, switch off the power. Hold in the Backup button on the box, switch the power back on and hold the button till the lights on the front come on. Release the button and you should have a black screen with the update message. It takes 10-15 minutes then it will go back into Standby. Leave it for a further 30 minutes, then press the Sky remote power button. Sometimes the 30 minute wait is not necessary, sometimes it is.

The final thing to try is doing a Full System Reset. To do this go into the Installer menu as before and select it. Note you will loose all recordings, so do this as a last resort.

If these all fail a call to Sky is the only remedy.

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.
