sky take'ing more money than they should help

ok so i went to the bank today, to withdraw money
      get some shopping etc,

got a mini statement to see how much ive got,
im over drawn? well i keep check on all my bills, and all paid for.
went to the desk and she said sky have took 4 lots of money?
      i was like what?

      so got a statement,
i had direct debit, for 86, that's fine i pay for that each month. (my subscription)

then i look, 3 payments on the same day have been taken out by sky,

this is what it said : card payment - to sky subscription all just under 70
so i phone sky, they says yes that is us be we have no record of it.
"so you have took money from me make me over draw - now paying for this overdraft more money"
      but they have no record,
they are saying, i have to send the statement to them, to prove this, it should be on their system tho.

so why do i have to do this, i find it stupid, costing me daily on this over draft,
im now broke for a whole week, good job i have got food,
but if i dident i would be left to starve.

i think this is out of order and deserve some compo on this and my money back.

      can any help me out?
i would be grate full if you can,
      thank you so much steve.

I don't know what your Sky subscription is, or what credit card or banking arrangments you have in place with Sky, so I can't comment other than to advise you to send an email immediately to the Chief Executive's office with a clear and concise explanation of what has happened and what has been debited from your account. Include your own personal details ( name, address, phone numbers ) and also your Sky account/viewing card number. Include the exact wording on your statement from the bank. This is important as it helps them to track down what's happened. Also explain your present predicament regarding money, and ask for a speedy resolution.

The email address is jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com. They are usually pretty quick to respond.

As you mentioned a card debit, are you the only person with access to it? Has it been compromised before? Also, the same with your private banking details. Similarly, I assume that no-one else has your PIN number for ordering movies etc via interactive, or the phone.

      Hope that helps.

Good advice above from Ken, I know its not what you want to hear at the moment but its quite rare that Sky get their billing wrong, so hopefully your account hasnt been compromised.

Sky are notorious for getting billing incorrect and not returning the incorrect payment as per the direct debit gtee.

They like to try the oh we will keep it as a credit on your account.

I have had to cancel my direct debit a few times with sky before and get the bank to refund the over payment.

To be honest sky dont give a rats ass for customers or the service they attempt to provide.

Dispute the payments with your bank immediately !

Under the terms of the Direct Debit Agreement, banks are required to refund any disputed DD payments immediately, although they may be clawed back later, if you are in the wrong (which I don't think you are).

Re: sky take'ing more money than they should help

It says "card payment" not direct debit so that won't work in this case. I would be worried about this if I were you, does it have any account details of where the money went as it may not even be your account the money has been paid against. Card payments are often set up as continuous payments so if I were you I would be calling the bank for information about what account that money has paid against and for a full statement to check nothing else has "appeared".

He said Direct Debit in his first post. Paying regular payments by plastic (either debit or credit card) is sheer folly, because you have virtually no control over it.
