Sky Box Office - Not enough credit on viewing card

Been a Sky customer for years - probably 10. Full package incl Web & Phone.

Dont usually use Box Office but decided to order Boxing which is on tonight via the Sky Remote.

Message came up telling me I did not have enough credit on my viewing card and to call 08XXXX...

I guess Sky have to set a spend limit on the account before you can use Box Office etc, so I need this set to a level which will enable me to book the event.

So, I called the number only to find its not in use... so called the alternative number the robot read out.

After 15mins on hold and without any signs of getting closer to speaking to a human, I thought I'd try the interactive on-screen account management. No joy & no joy with the on-line account management options.

Can anyone tell me if I am right that I need a spend limit set? and if so, is there anyway I can adjust the limit myself?

      Thanks!

Thanks but that's not it. That simply sets a value at which the Sky Box will ask you to enter your pin before allowing a purchase.... and that's not my problem.

I 'think' Sky must have to set a spend limit for the account. It is that limit that I'm trying to adjust.

I think the limit is 50 ish

If you have watched several Box Office movies, (or similar) and the box has not dialled home, it could be the reason. (It only dials home occasionally, or when Sky initiate the callback etc)

This has been known to happen to people who disconnect the phone line from the box.

Re: Sky Box Office - Not enough credit on viewing card

My box is always connected to the telephone line & I do not regularly purchase box office stuff.. one every few years perhaps.

So I know I've not reached my monthly limit. I think its because the event I wish to purchase it 15 and I suspect Sky have set my Box Office spending limit lower than this.

I pay by monthly direct debit, always have done and have never had any payment issues.

Looks like my choices are limited. Call one of Sky's premium rate numbers, hold for god knows how long and eventually speak to someone about this.

This hasstle is begining to outweigh my desire to see the box office event!

They do not use premium rate numbers.
