      hi, i've only just joined and am new at this, but i disagree... i have an extra sky+ box, with an old sky viwing card in Norway (for the once a month i'm over there) no subscription, no payments, and all my sky+ functions work normaly...

      For now that is, if they notice, then they will turn off the Sky+ functions, these are for subscribers only.

      There will always be a few who will have something free because of an error at Sky's end, there were a few posts on here recently that were getting Sky Sports without paying but you cannot really complain if when they notice they remove the facility.

      The Sky+ "kill" command has been missed by this box, that's why you are able to continue recording. If you keep the card out of the box, or keep the box unplugged as much as you can, the chances are you will miss the kill signal that Sky transmit to the card over a period of time. Nobody really knows the frequency or duration of these commands, so, for the time being, you've got lucky.
