      Strange call from Sky TV....

So the phone rung earlier this evening and I answered it, "Mumbai Calling" style gent on the other end....

"This is a courtesy call from Sky television, could I speak to Mr Rees please?"
      "Yup, speaking"
"Mr Rees you have a Sky box, right?"
      "Yes"
      "And is it working OK?"
      "Yes"
"And you pay by monthly subscription, right?"
      "Yes"
"OK this was just a courtesy call, thank you"... and he hung up.

What was that all about? He didn't seem to know anything about my account 'cos he didn't specify Sky+, didn't ask about the multiroom or broadband or anything else. Also didn't try to sell me anything which was what I was expecting...

Something doesn't seem right! It just didn't seem to have the genuine Sky patter to it. Number witheld too. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid?

Sounds like a phising thing, now they know that phone number has Sky TV.

No matter who phones me they will get nothing out of me, they can write to me or I can phone them.

The bank once phoned me up and then get all snotty when I refused to answer their security questions and said that they should answer mine.

I have a little Caller ID screen . Anything with 0845 etc on it gets ignored. I had a spate of these calls a few months ago - all were ignored. Peace and quiet reigns again.
