      FIX - for corrupted pictures

      Hi,

I didnt have much luck with either sky or here TBH, with the issue I had.
The sky operative was just reading from a script and was just wasting my time & money.. and to be honest was pretty damn stupid. This was my scenario.

      symptoms
      Initially Virgin1 and Virgin1+ channels where freezing/corrupting
      Then some others
The major SKY ones where all fine
      Rain/Sleet or shine
      Good Signal

If you have similar try the following (you be asked to do this by sky anyway).

1> RESET YOUR BOX: switch off your box at the wall, remove the card, leave for 30seconds, switch on - chances this will do jack anyway.

      2> DO A SIGNAL CHECK

3> Check that the frequency is set correctly and reset the power to the LNB (again from secret menu)

4> CHECK IF YOUR BOX HAS THE LATEST SOFTWARE: go into services it will give you the latest software for the box. Reset the box, the instructions I had was that you should reload software, but I diodnt have a problem. Just make sure the signal is good, follow all onscreen instructions. AND DONT turn off the power. You need to do this from the secret installers menu, goto service, press 4 1 0 (I think from memory) and its there. chances are this wont fic it anyway

      5> DO YOU OWN A HANDSFREE PHONE/DEVICE
Check that the cabling for the phone does not go anywhere near, either the sky telephone cable, the aerial, mains leads or boxes. THIS should fix it

Mine has been right as rain past few weeks now...

At first I thought it was a conspiracy against VIRGIN

Found that little gem hidden away on another digital forum, so b4 you get sky out, (and pay 60) or change LNB's try the above

I do have the details on how to do the resets, but there on my home PC.
If anyone needs any help, please e-me @ Jaye 944 @ sky dot com

I'm not sure I'd call it a broadcast issue. One of the satellites was not receiving or sending ANY of its signals.

Mmmmm.... I think that if I didn't let the telephone cables near my multi-room boxes, Sky may have something to say about it !
