      Analogue to Digital

A pensioner neighbour has been using Sky Analogue since the year "dot" but her Sky Analogue box has just decided to turn its toes up!

I can get hold of a cheap digibox for her - but before I do I wondered whether the dish and dish settings are the same for Analogue and Digital.

Do Sky still do the free to air card as I think she will need this?

      Re: Analogue to Digital

If she was watching Analogue, it would have been in German and from Astra 19e as there are no analogue broadcasts from 28e. Apart from that, the LNB will probably be an old Low band only, not universal.
For 150, sky will do a Freesat from sky install with a new box, card, dish, LNB and cable.

      Re: Analogue to Digital

Will the existing dish do the job? If so we can fit a new LNB and get a secondhand digibox.

Does the dish need realigning to receive Sky Digital?

Remember that most pensioners cannot afford to be afford to get Sky out!

      Re: Analogue to Digital

I doubt if it is an analogue dish, as mentioned the analogue signal was turned off years ago(2001). Given that she has been watching Sky her box must also be digital, assuming she has been watching UK broadcasts.
