Loss of channels..mornings only !!!!

Most mornings all my sky channels apart from BBC & ITV ones start breaking up then go off with the message 'No signal being recd' The signal test shows strength and quality are very low and the lock indicator says Not locked. (BBC and ITV are on though !) This lasts from 1 to several hours and then hey presto all the channels are back on and stay on until the next day. This doesn't happen every day though. It's quite random and I have tried switching mains off and then on again but that doesn't help. Has anyone got any ideas? Could I need a new digibox as my is quite old or could it be my viewing card ? I do not subscribe to Sky but have my old card in to view the free channels.

Your dish is faulty. Either the Sun is heating it up, which is causing a fault to appear, or you have water in one or more cables. I'd go for the first one.

Could be a faulty LNB or the dish is on the edge of the alignment envelope. It may simply need realigning. If you can reach the dish try putting a little pressure on the LNB arm (up, down, left and right) and see if the picture returns . If it doesn't then look at the LNB/Cables. Don't fall off the ladder!
