      'Ghosts' of other channels

Hi, I have done a search but can't find anything about this so apologies if I missed it.

On some channels I find that I can see a 'ghost' of another channel in the backgorund. It's quite faint and certainly not strong enough to tell which other channel it is, but is a bit annoying nonetheless.

Is this a known issue, is there any way anyone knows to sort it, or does an engineer need to retune my box or something? In which case is my insurance policy likely to cover that?
      Thanks

Face it your TV is haunted.
On the other hand it would help to know what channels your talking about, Like my sky or terrestrial channels are ghosting.
      My sky box is?
      my package is?
my sky box is X years old and is on the mid , basis, what ever package.
      Details details details,

I'm pretty certain the issue will be with your TV. Do you have an aerial or other video source plugged into the TV?

      Re: 'Ghosts' of other channels

Thanks for the replies, and apologies for the missing details.

I don't think it's any particular channels, I just mean that when it happens it will be on one channel but not others. I have seen it on terrestrial stations and also on sky stations. I only view through the sky box, but I do have an aerial and video plugged into the TV too.

My Sky box is a standard grey one, just over 2 years old, I am on Sky Digital.

      Thanks.

Try un plug your aerial and scart from the tv and see if that improves things.
Use your sky remote and go into system details to view signal strength etc

I think unplugging aerial and scart will remove the crosstalk which is the issue here.
Theres no need to check signal strength as its not a reception issue.

hello, sounds like its a scart cable issue... if you have the sky connected via scart, unplug the scart and tune it into a channel on the tv-like 6 or something not used, that should cure your problem

It does sound like crosstalk on a poor quality SCART lead however your solution leaves the OP with a potentially poorer picture via RF (albeit without ghost) and mono sound.

OP we need more information on how your Sky box, video and TV are connected together (SCART lead,RF cable etc)

This used to happen on my old Sony TV. I just unplugged the RF lead from it and "Bingo!"
