sky tv lost channels advice please

i have been with sky for about 8 yrs i have sky+ and standard sky box multiroom, just these last few weeks i cant watch certain channels on my sky+ box ie history sci fi and a few others, the box states no signal or the picture is freezing etc, also my standard box wont let me watch sci fi sky premier or sky premier + 1 and some of the documentary channels?, i am not technical but ive done the basic things ie rebooting the boxes but no joy my question is how much does it cost to get the boxes fixed and do i keep the old boxes as i remember when i joined i was told the sky boxes were my property any help offered would be gratefully appreciated

Sounds like your dish is slightly out of alignment.

Certainly looks like a reception problem. How old is the dish & LNB? 8 years? Same with the cabling. Anything could happen after 8 years. Someone needs to come out and examine the whole lot. Maybe the dish is rusting, or the pigeons have been dropping nasties on the LNB, lol.

thanks for the replies, but who owns the boxes if they exchange them? do i keep the old boxes? a friend stated they only replace the boxes if you give them your old ones? to me that seems unfair if ive paid for them, my friend also stated the cost would be 65? is he correct?

If you pay the 65 and give them your box you get a box as a replacement. If you don't want to relinquish your old box you will have to pay the full price of a new Sky+ box which is most definately more than 65.
