      Scart Help!

Hi guys, I've tried searching the forums and google but to my suprise I can't find what I'm looking for!
I have mounted my lcd tv to the lounge wall, the garage is on the other side of the wall where I have a comms cabinet, this is where my sky box will be going. Everything is in place except the scart lead! I was told it was easy to chop in half and solder back together so after chopping one plug off I now see that there are duplicates of the same colours(5 blue, 7 red, 3 yellow, 2 green, 4 black) so I'm stuck how to solder the plug back on! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
      Cheers

      Re: Scart Help!

There used to be a guide on how to manually wire up a scart lead on Maplin website. I'll have a quick look and see if i can find it.

      EDIT:

You could also use scart to phono adaptor, this will allow you to have a wired scart one end to three phono leads and then use a scart adaptor to make the connection.

This will allow you to drill a hole and pass the cables through one by one.

      Re: Scart Help!

looks like I might have to go down the scart to phono route, thanks for the scart guide but I'm still lost as to which to solder where

      Re: Scart Help!

I would buy some cut scart cable from maplin that is properly colour coded, then use the guide to solder it up (if you want to maintain full RGB picture)

      Re: Scart Help!

Didn't really think about buying cut cable, I assume with that it won't matter how I solder it as long as it's the same both ends!

Nope, not really, but easier if you need to go back and look at what you've done.

      Maplin > scart cable

This is the best diagram that I could find - you need to be careful, because some of the wires cross over between pins, and some are connected pin to pin

      Re: Scart Help!

Thanks guys, I went for the cut cable from Maplins option. A couple of mistakes - I don't think I've done any soldering since school over ten years ago! Works great now, really pleased and a better picture than before!
