Can i get Setanta

I have an old Sky box and sky card and still have a dish set up on my house. My question is can i subscribe to setanta so i just get Setanta sports channels and the freeview channels, or do I need to subscribe again to Sky for this to work

Setanta is not apart of the sky packages and as far as i know you can have setanta without any sky channels and just have the freeview channels.

i would of thought you would still have to pay the sports channels and have Setanta as a add on other wise everybody would be just having Setanta

Setana(Banana sports) just need a sky box, and a valid sky card, be it freeveiw or not. You pay the money to Setanta for a a service through a satalite and not sky.

Sorry but that is wrong. Setanta is a completely different channel and is not part of any Sky Mix, it is an add on that can be purchased without the need to have any other channels. You can also purchase it via Freeview.

But on Setanta you only get one channel, and its time restricted too, I would like the full Setanta package. I would also subscribe to Sky sports too if I didnt have to get the mix pacjkage £16.50 basic.

He's saying sdd's advice in his post no. 3 below yours is wrong.

You can just have Setanta, you just need a viewing card to put it on and then ring them.

Take a look at Setanta Sports, Sports News, Sports on TV, Football, FA Cup, Boxing, UFC, Cricket, Rugby. which is offering 1/2 price subscription.

You can receive Setanta 3 ways: Satellite (which gives the whole Setanta Sports Package), Freeview (which give 1 channel only) and over Broadband.

All Setanta ask for is a viewing card number they can authorise, so it seems likely you can use a defunct Sky card.

It is going to depend on how old it is I think. If it is very old it will not be digital and Sentana requires a digital box. You can get them in Tesco, Argos etc, for a few pounds, you might be better off getting one of these, rather than use an old Sky box.

I wouldn't touch Sentanta with a barge pole as they are notorious for making people jump through hoops when trying to cancell. Just do a search on "Cancelling Sentanta" for further details.
