      Sky multiroom problem

The Sky signal in our second room has stopped working, with an error message being displayed on the screen that a problem exists with our telephone connection. Our main room box is fine. On closer inspection of the cable from the phone socket which then connects to our seond box, istalled by the engineer, an orange and a white covered wire do not appear to be connected at either the male and female end of the extention. Is this the route of my problem, or is the cable OK? Cant think what else it might be.

The orange wire should be the ring wire and with broadband you are better off with it disconnected. Blue/white wires should be connected to terminals 2 and 5. that is all that is required.
Have you tried a phone in the suspect extension?

Did BT fit the extension? If not they won't care unless you want to pay.
