      Is this email from sky?

I received the following email supposedly from sky this morning. It was thanking me for my recent order. I have made NO order.

      >>>>
Thank you for ordering from Sky.com.

Your order is being processed and you will receive your sales confirmation letters within the next few days.

Please note, if you have upgraded your TV selections, your new package price takes effect immediately. You have already been charged for the coming month at the previous rate, so you will be debited for the days you received the new package and credited the existing price for that period on your next statement.

In the meantime if you have any queries about your order or you wish to make any changes, please email mysky@bskyb.com or call 08442 414 141.

      When contacting us, please quote:

The full name (first name and surname), postcode and the home telephone number which you used for your order

Remember you can visit Sky Digital TV, Sky Broadband and Sky Phone services available online for general info on Sky.com purchases that you can make. Always read the product Terms and Conditions carefully.

Thanks again for ordering from Sky.com.

      (c) BSkyB Limited 2008. British Sky Broadcasting Limited (registered in England & Wales as company no. 02906991) has its registered office at Grant Way, Isleworth, Middlesex TW7 5QD.
      <<<<<<<<<<<<<

Who at sky would I email about this? I have not made any order and neither have any of my family, so why have I received this email?

I had a look under 'my orders' on sky.com and there is nothing there.

The email you quoted tells you exactly what to do and who to contact (email or phone).

      Yes, quite right!

I had just come home from a hectic night shift and my first thought was that someone had ordered something from sky using my details.

I will email them and ask what the hell are they playing at.

It could be one department just catching up with your last order, which no one has told them was completed, maybe months ago

The funny thing is if you actually use that email address you will probably get a reply back asking you to use the KANA form

Probably a prank. Look at the email header to see the routing.

Re: Is this email from sky?

My last order was well over 12 months ago when I upgraded from Sky+ to Sky HD.

I suspect either a prank or someone has used my details.

I will look at the header and see if anything stands out.

Just got an auto response telling me that I should use an online form!

I wonder if it allows me to forward the original email?

If it was genuine why direct me to an online form when the email directs me to a normal email address?

In Outlook Express, highlight the email, right click, select 'Properties', then 'Details'. See where it came from.

Sounds like some kind of Sky howler, but you never know.

Edit: Sorry, crossed with your response!
