Cost of new Sky+ box
I have had a Sky+ box for nearly 2 years but my TV repair man says its died and I need to replace the box.
He reckons it will cost £65 installation and £65 for a new box?
I have 2 other sky boxes in the house and 2 multi room subscriptions, broaband and Sky talk so I cant threaten to leave Sky.
Before I ring Sky to ask the cost how much should I expect to pay for a new box ?

Re: Cost of new Sky+ box
I would ring sky and try and do a deal with them.I would not pay the £65 install charge just to change over receiver.

Re: Cost of new Sky+ box
If you call Sky they will charge £65 for whatever is required, there will be no install charge.
£65 is the most you will pay even for a replacement receiver.

Re: Cost of new Sky+ box
Sky do not normally 'do deals' over dead 2 year old boxes. It's a flat rate £65 callout for a replacement box. If you threaten the 'I'll cancel' routine, even as a multiroom etc subscriber, they may grant your wish, and cut you off. Be careful what you threaten - you may get it.
Your £65 gets you an installer visit - and another box. Where did your TV man get the idea of two £65 charges? I'm surprised he didn't try to flog you another tv as well. And how does he know the box is dead? No standby light? Stuck in standby? Have you spoken with Sky? How about changing the plug? lolPanasonic TX-P50G10B, Onkyo HTS 3305, Sky+HD Thomson 4E3007 (with upgraded PSU & WD5000AVDS HDD),
