Indoor aerials don't usually cut it.

The best I ever got from an inside aerial was OnDigital ( remember that?? lol ) from Craigkelly transmitter, some 17km away, and with virtual line-of-sight ( across the River Forth ). Pushing out a measly 100kW of power, and at a height of 310m, it gave me OK reception , although the indoor aerial was up against the window on the correct side of the house. Emley Moor pumps out a whopping 870kW from a height of 567m, so you may - only just - get lucky!!! It all depends what's in the way, and at what height.

What doesn't work, if it's an indoor aerial I'm not surprised.
