Multiroom lite subscription for £5?
Hi all,
Ok I have just had sky installed this week and when I signed up to sky (through a guy standing at a sky desk in my local shopping centre) he said that because we are living in wales that sky multiroom would automatically be at £5 a month because we are lviing in a digital switchover region. However, I have just had a letter through the post from sky about my payments - and it sayss that my multiroom is at £9.75 a month.
OK, now I know from the past that when I have phoned sky, they are really rude and don't listen to a word that I say. I am going tot phone them tommorow and see why I am being charged this amount.
OK so the question is, that do I have a right to cancel my multiroom if they don't sort this out? I know that I must be a sky subscriber for at least 12 months and I don't want to cancel my main subscription (sky world) but if they don't agree to me having multiroom for £5 a month (which was agreed at the time) then can I cancel just the multiroom?
oh yes and I had a free sky+ box and a free standard box for my multiroom - so does that mean if I cancel I must give the second box back?
I'm so sorry that this is a bit long winded but I know that if I ask sky these questions they just reply with ignorance and rudeness.
I would be very very greatful for any replies.

Re: Multiroom lite subscription for £5?
When you signed up was there a contract with that condition on it, that you signed?
You would be best ringing Sky and explaining that that was part of the contract, if they don't honour their side, then you have no reason to hold yours.
I am sure once that you speak to Sky they would resolve it. Or at the very least add a credit to cover it.~ Never, ever, argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience ~

Never believe a salesman unless you get it in writing!
My understanding is that Multiroom lite is for those without any premium channels (Movies or Sports)!Geoff, York.

Re: Multiroom lite subscription for £5?
Thx for the replies, and u r probably right about salesman but I did sign a contract but it didn't actually state "£5 multiroom" the salesman just said I would automatically get it. Anyway, how can I explain this all to sky? I don't think they will listen and now I might have ended up with a 12 month subscription at the full rate.
Is there anyway I can get out of it?
Also, if I downgraded to just the basic channels, then will I qualify for multiroom lite? or do i have to wait another 12 months?
Any help would be appreciatedLast edited by coolit27; 14-02-09 at 10:28 PM.

At the end of the day, you are going to have to argue your case, politely and firmly. You haven't ended up with what you agreed.

Re: Multiroom lite subscription for £5?
I have tryed to get multiroom for £5.00 with no joy and I dont take premium channels. I think if they offer it to some then they should offer it to all but it does not seem to be the case

Didn't the contract have all the payments detailed?
If you've signed a contract that says £10 then I'm afraid you don't have a leg to stand on.
I always treat salesmen with great suspicion. I expect them to promise anything to secure a sale! If they can't put it on paper then it ain't real!Geoff, York.
