Re: Rude installation guy and and unhappy install SKY +
I have had a similar experience with an engineer who came to repair my dish. He replaced my box with an older obe telling my wife that it was a new one when it obliviously wasn't. My wife not being very technical agreed - I have been told to send a complaint to:
customer relations
sky subscriber services ltd
po box 43

Anyone know if they actually do anything?

Sky use reconditioned boxes as swap out exchange units. They are meant to be refurbished and tested though.

Re: Rude installation guy and and unhappy install SKY +
I had the same thing when we had multiroom done, i phoned up to complain, was told that they thought it was quite satisfactory to drape the cable across the roof diagonally, told them if i wanted a cowboy job done i wouldn't have paid them £60 to do it, phoned back a few hours later got a different call center and they agreed to send another fitter to tidy it up, he whinged about having to do it but did tidy it up in the end. No you are not being fussy you just want a decent professional job that you paid them to do.

I myself have a friend who has had numerous problem with engineers but is there anyone that actually deals and takes notice as I have a feeling that these complaints may be falling on deaf ears. I know that they normally want it in writing but who do we send it too.

If you have had problems and make your point to customer services I have been told that they normally throw in a little sweetener. I think its only fair considering that you have been mis-treated.

Re: Rude installation guy and and unhappy install SKY +
My poor installation has now been solved, £35 by a local installation company, the cable now goes through the attic, rather than diagonally over the roof. Im just about to start my letter of complaint to sky.
One thing that crossed my mind, the sky installer only replaced the LNB, he did not replace the dish, he used the existing dish, is this standard practise.
Im not too concerned, but could have had the opportunity to perhaps sell the old dish.
